Nicholas graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1991 with a Master’s Degree in ‘Visual Islamic & Traditional Arts’ and continues to be a practicing artist. Much of his recent work can be viewed and purchased from his website. Published in 2016 he collaborated on a book with Keith Critchlow ‘The Knap of Howar & the Origins of Geometry’ in which Nicholas writes of his 22 years research into the ancient site of Knap of Howar on Orkney, Scotland. He describes the Pythagorean geometry governing this ancient site which was clearly being implemented 3,000 years before Pythagoras. The book is currently sold out but a reprint is planned for the near future. His artwork and writing express an interest in the Sophia Perennis, the Perennial Wisdom - a perspective that views all the world’s traditions as an expression of the one universal truth. This being the foundation of all religious knowledge, symbolism being the key to this understanding. Nicholas’s work is an attempt to express these perennial ideas and to promote the rediscovery of pre-modern wisdom traditions. Nicholas lives on his barge in West London.
